oastline bay was clear as day
Birds above they called away
Faintly a radio is popping static as it plays

It’s a tale from long ago
Back when the world was still at war
You and I had nowhere else where we could go

All the songs I’ve long since longed to hear
Spilling out the radio and into the atmosphere
To think that this could be the last song that
You and I might listen to before it disappears

Lately though the sound is getting hazy
Almost like the radio is breaking
What to do, what to do so the next song reaches through?

Trying hard to sing a song that one day might reach out to you
But in this lonely world the music’s all gone mute.
Looking in the sky, not a single sign of life
It seems, within this whole world we might be the last two left behind

Years ago, the evening sky
Out of nowhere burst alive
Lit the night alight, the sight of burning red
With a sound that knocked the whole world dead

But that’s a tale from way back when
Right now we’re meeting up at the coast again
View is swaying, music playing every now and then

Night will break soon, let’s make a little detour
Going together on a great adventure!
Truth is I knew where this would lead
But it was a secret I promised I would keep

As you turned back to me, the sunset behind you
Turned your hair to something almost see through
And it told me the time from the way it seemed to shine

Seeing you light up with sunshine when you smile the way you do
Made me feel tomorrow would be just as sunny too
If this song goes on, if this purple sky goes on changing
I think we should both head to the point where everything ends

Though I love you, though I leave you
It won’t change anything, we’ll both be gone soon
And so I won’t be, won’t be, no way I’ll be lonely, lonely
But just like always, I would run away again
I pretended, never saying when; like this would never end

All the songs you liked to hear, the places you hold dear
How you used to smell, the laughter in my ears
Everything will disappear
Everything will disappear

Just supposing that we could rewind this whole thing back again
What should we do differently before the summer ends?
Maybe if you keep smiling, maybe if I keep smiling
Just then, this world might remember all the songs that we sing
